Wales Golf Update 3rd July 2020

The Welsh Government has today (3rd July) confirmed that Local Travel restrictions in Wales will be lifted from the 6th of July.

There has been no change in the number of households that can socially mix outdoors, therefore golf in the current forms remains. However, this is being discussed by the Welsh Government tomorrow, any changes will be announced in the next Welsh Government update.

We would like to remind you that Wales Golf and sports sector continue to work closely with the Welsh Government.

This week, it was also announced that the hospitality industry could start preparing for a phased re-opening from the 13th of July, under Welsh Government Guidelines. This is subject to the Welsh Government review on the 9th of July.

Phase 1 will allow outdoor spaces owned by the business to open for food and beverage services, subject to their license agreement. The re-opening of indoor spaces will be considered by the Welsh Government at a later date. As soon as we receive further guidance on the re-opening of the hospitality industry, we will provide further Welsh Government Guidance.

To help the industry prepare, the new UK Government ‘We’re Good To Go” is the official UK accreditation scheme, showcasing that a business has followed Government and industry COVID-19 guidelines. Find out more about the ‘We’re Good To Go’ scheme here
