All Affiliated Golf Courses will be rated on a ten year cycle as a core service offered by Wales Golf. Outside of the ten year cycle should you make any alterations to your course then you must notify Wales Golf in accordance with CONGU regulations.

When alterations have been carried out to a course which increase or decrease its length by over 100 yards or which may affect the playing difficulty, the Affiliated Club must complete and submit the ‘Notification of Course Changes’ document, available via the ‘Downloads’ section, for reassessment of the Standard Scratch Score (SSS).

For a new course(s), the ‘New Course SSS Application’ document, is to be completed and submitted. This includes any form of composite course e.g. winter tees, short course.

Increasingly popular are 9 Hole Course Ratings. Each Affiliated Golf Club can have 2 SSS ratings per 9 holes, e.g. yellow front, yellow back, which can be obtained by completing the ‘9 Hole SSS Application’ document, available via the ‘Downloads’ section. Once your 9 Hole SSS certificate has been issued, handicap tables are available via the downloads section of this webpage.

NB – No course of less than, 3000 yards 18 holes (unless rated prior to 1st January 1993), 1500 yards 9 holes, or fewer than nine holes, shall be allocated a Standard Scratch Score.

Please find below a selection of useful course rating guides and documentation.
