Events to Run at your Club

There is a wide range of Championships & Events available for members of golf clubs across Wales to compete in. Below is a list of events which can be held at your venue along with the basic details. Ladies Event

Defending Champions: Liz Madine & Debbie Roberts, Baron Hill GC18 holes Stableford Greensomes.

£5 per pair

Winners of each club event will qualify to compete in the All Wales Final at Llanishen Golf Club on Friday 9th September.

Maximum handicap index of competitors – 45.0

Closing date and deadline for club event – Sunday 1st August 2022

Open to all Genders,

18 hole Stableford Fourball Betterball.

Free of Charge

Open to any member of the golf club with an official WHS handicap index, winners will receive personalised medals from Wales Golf. Winners will be automatically entered into a nationwide league table with the highest points score claiming the national title.

Maximum handicap index of competitors – 54.0

Closing date and deadline for club event – Friday 30th September 2022

Ladies Event

18 Hole Stableford Foursomes

£5 per pair

Winners of each club event will qualify to compete at the All Wales Final at Mold Golf Club on Thursday 8th September.

Maximum handicap index of competitors – 45.0

Closing date and deadline for club event – Sunday 1st August 2022

Note: There will be no North & South Finals for 2022; winning teams progress directly to the All Wales Final

Open to all genders

18 hole Maximum Score Medal

£2.00 per player

Open to any member of the golf club with an official WHS handicap index, players can play from any set of tees which has been officially rated. Male & Female winners of each club event will qualify to compete at the National Final at Llanishen on the 10th September 2022

Maximum handicap index for competitors – 54.0

Closing date and deadline for club event – Sunday 31st July 2022

Ladies Event

£11 per brooch.

Brooches may be purchased directly from Wales Golf and played for at your club in whatever format you wish.

Ladies Event

18 Hole Qualifiers

Free of charge for Medals, £3 per player for the Challenge Bowls

Note: for 2021, a minimum of 2 qualifying events are required at your club.

Medals – A series of medal qualifiers held throughout the year, with the lowest aggregate of between 2 & 4 nett scores qualifying to compete at the Regional Finals the subsequent year.

 

Bowls – One designated qualifier, or separate event, will act as the Challenge Bowls club event. Split into two handicap categories, the Silver is for players with an official WHS handicap index of 20.0 or less and the Bronze 20.1 or above.

  • Entries Close:      Monday 6th June
  • Championship:  Saturday 9th July – St. Andrews Old Course

Clubs can participate and compete in the 9 Hole Championship in one of two ways:

Method 1: Clubs are invited to run a 9 hole stableford qualifying competition for their members.  Players will play in teams of 2 with their individual 9 hole stableford scores added together to create the team score. The winning pair will go forward to compete in the National Final at Garnant Park on Saturday 18th June

Method 2: The leading two 9 hole scores submitted under WHS between the 1st January 2022 & 31st May 2022 will go forward to compete as a team in the National Final at Garnant Park on Saturday 18th June

The winning team score from the final will qualify to the grand final, held the week prior to the 150th Open Championship at St. Andrews (Old Course)
