    Personal

    Born 1993, St Asaph, Wales

    Amy started to play golf in 1999 aged 5, influenced by her father Simon, PGA Professional at Maesdu Golf Club. Amy represents Conwy Golf club and the Robert Rock Golf Academy. Her hobbies include going to the gym, shopping and socialising with friends.

    Amy is open to further sponsorship opportunities which will help her in her quest to achieve both her short and long term golfing ambitions. She is currently attached to the Robert Rock Golf Academy and represents Cobra/Puma Golf.

    Amatuer

    Amy played full time amatuer golf for a number of years, competing with the top girls in the amateur game. As an amateur she was a member of the Junior Ryder Cup (2010) and PING Junior Solheim Cup (2011), represented GB&I at the Vagliano Trophy 2011 & 2013, she was a member of the victorious team at the Astor Trophy (2011) and Curtis Cup (2012), three winning Home International Teams for Wales 2008, 2009 & 2013 and Welsh Girls Champion (2008), Welsh Open Champion (2013), Scottish Open Champion (2012), English Open Champion (2013). She qualified for three RICOh Women’s British Opens at Royal Birkdale, Royal Liverpool and St Andrews.

    Amy Played for her home country Wales for many years and ended her amateur career on a high in helping the Welsh team win the Home Internationals. She played for Europe in the 2010 Junior Ryder cup and the 2011 Junior Solheim Cup. In 2008, Amy was named BBC Young Sportswoman of the Year.

    Professional

    Amy turned Professional in September 2013 and made her debut as a pro in a LETAS event, finishing 2nd. In May 2014 she won her first tournament as a professional at Gams-Werdenberg Golf Club, she also qualified for the 2014 US Women’s Open Championship at the Buckinghamshire Golf Club and played in this years US Open at Pinehurst Golf Club.

    Amy’s first season on the Ladies European Tour has proved to be an extremely successful start to her career with 3 top 5 finishes and several others in the top 20 which has enabled her to finish 18th in the Order Of Merit and achieve the unique distinction of 2014 Rookie Of The Year.

    Personal

    Born: Bridgend, South Wales.
    D.O.B: 14/12/1987

    Lydia started playing golf at the age of 11. She lists her parents as her greatest influences. Lydia has been guided and coached from the very beginning by John Peters, Head Professional of Southerndown Golf Club.

    Lydia has always loved watching and playing any and every sport she could get her hands on. She lists playing and watching sports as one of her hobbies but also loves catching up with family and friends when she’s home. Lydia attended Pencoed Comprehensive School in Pencoed and earned 10 GCSE’s and 2 A levels.

    Amateur

    Lydia was a member of Welsh Junior Team from 2001-2005 . She was also a member of Welsh U21’s in 2004 and 2006, as well as the Welsh Ladies’ Team in 2004, 2005 and 2007. Lydia became Glamorgan Ladies’ and Girls Champiom in 2004, The top qualifier at 2005 British Girls’ and won silver medal at European U21 Team Championship in 2004.

    Professional 

    In October 2007 Lydia attended Ladies European Tour Qualifying School in Italy. At the first stage of qualifying Lydia shot rounds of 71, 71, 66 to finish 4th and get through to Final stage. As Lydia is such a hard worker and a huge talent she continued her great form to produce rounds of 68, 70, 67, 71 to finish 2nd and to gain her professional card with ease. She finished the two weeks and 7 rounds of high pressure golf in a total of -20 under par!

    How did you become interested in playing golf?

    My dad took me for a lesson as a 10 year old, my dad is a hugely keen golfer

    At what age did you begin playing competitively? 11

    What is your most memorable golf experience or moment?

    Playing as an amateur at the Wales Open. After the first round I went to hit balls at the range and ended up between the Molinari brothers and Lee Westwood!

    What is your favourite golf course and why?

    County Louth in Ireland. It was my first Home International’s as a Boy and the course was fantastic.

    Who is your favourite golfer and why?
    Jason Day beacuase he plays golf how I want to Swing, hitting and putting.

    Who is the most influential person in your life?
    My Dad. He introduced me to the game and has supported me financially and emotionally ever since.

    What do you like to do when not playing golf?
    Have a coffee (caramel latte at Caffe Nero) with my friends, watching Llandudno RFC as my brothers play for them.

    Do you have a nickname? Wee man

    What are three words that describe you? Strange, Fun, Loud

    Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now? Playing on tour, top 100 in the Race to Dubai

    What are your best three tournaments?
    1. Welsh Amateur Champion 2014

    How did you become interested in playing golf?
    With having such a sporting background with my grandfather playing the game and also my father who is now my coach and national coach for GUW, I got into the game quite quickly.

    At what age did you begin playing golf? I was 2 years old when I picked up my first club.

    At what age did you begin playing competitively? 8 years old.

    What is your most memorable golf experience or moment?
    The AYOF in January 2013 where I was representing GB&I at the youth Olympics where individually I finished with a bronze and contributed to the team winning a gold. Which both felt amazing. I am also really pleased to have been selected to represent GB&I at the Astor Salver in Australia in January 2015.

    What is your favourite golf course and why?
    Ashburnham as its one of the greatest golf courses around and I have played some of my best golf on it.

    Who is your favourite golfer and why?
    Anna Nordqvist because she is a true athlete with fantastic determination, competitive and a champion.

    Who is the most influential person in your life?
    I would have to say my dad as he is always there for me, if I’m not feeling the best before going away or if I’ve not had a great tournament he will always be on the other end of the phone or to sit down with me and go over what happened and pick me up, solve the problem and get me ready for the next day.

    What do you like to do when not playing golf?
    I like going out socially with friends for a drink and shopping. I also like to go to the gym, work out and work on my physical exercises from Mark Bull and Zach Gould. I have recently started playing netball again and enjoy watching Liverpool FC.

    Do you have a nickname? Doug from dad or C-Dubs

    What are three words that describe you? Adrenaline junky, fiesty and competitive.

    Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now?
    On my third year on the Ladies European Tour, two wins on the LET and in the top 10 of the Ladies Order of Merit, finally setting goals towards getting into the Solheim Cup.

    What are your best three tournament results:
    1. AYOF 2013 bronze – individual, gold – team
    2. Winning 11 out of 12 Matches – at Ladies home internationals in 2013 and 2014.
    3. British Ladies Amateur Stroke Play – 3rd Place.

    Please tell me about any honours, awards, and achievements in golf that you would like to share: Representing Wales from the age of 13 and having 4 national caps for the Ladies Home Internationals, winning bronze and gold in the Youth Olympics, winning the Girls OOM 2012 and 2013.  Winning 11 out of 12 in the last two Ladies Home International Matches, also being the only player to do so.

    How did you become interested in playing golf? Through my Grandad, Dad and older Brother. They all play and introduced me to golf.

    What is your most memorable golf experience or moment?
    Top Welsh point scorer at the 2015 Home Internationals.

    What is your favourite golf course and why?
    Pearl Valley, South Africa – played a couple of times and it has held some pro events, it’s really challenging and scenic.

    Who is your favourite golfer and why?
    Henrik Stenson, he is so chilled out on the course and happens to be very good

    Who is the most influential person in your life?
    When I started golf, and growing up, my dad and older brother were the biggest influence for me, now that I am taking my golf to another level, Neil Matthews (GUW National Coach) is the biggest influence.

    What do you like to do when not playing golf?
    Very sporty person so like playing football, going to the cinema, spending time with friends and travelling when I can

    What are three words that describe you? Individual, Calm, Confident

    Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now? Playing professional golf on the European Tour

    Please tell me about any honours, awards, and achievements in golf that you would like to share:Played for U18 Netherlands team (I lived there from 2001 to 2010) and qualified for one of their teams

    How did you become interested in playing golf? Both my dad and sister, Rachel play, so I wanted to experience what they were doing.

    At what age did you begin playing golf? I joined Llanishen golf club at 10 years old, and started from there.

    At what age did you begin playing competitively? 11 years of age.

    What is your most memorable golf experience or moment? 
    Winning my first cap for the Girls Home Internationals in Gullane, Scotland, at the age of 14, after a successful week at the Welsh Girls Championship at Clays.

    What is your favourite golf course and why? Whitchurch, Cardiff because it suites my eye, and it also tests your skills.

    Who is your favourite golfer and why? Tiger Woods because he is always pushing himself to improve and he is great mentally as well. He is a great model to look up to, because he’s just so confident in everything he does.

    Who is the most influential person in your life? My dad, Simon. He introduced me to the game, without him and my mum, Bev I wouldn’t have the opportunity to be in the position that I am in. He taught me how to play, and is always there to help me.

    What do you like to do when not playing golf? I like to play hockey and badminton whilst I’m not playing golf. I hang out with my friends, go to the cinema and to the gym.

    What are three words that describe you? Bubbly, enthusiastic, ambitious

    Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now? Being a successful amateur golfer, and being introduced to a golf career

    What are your best three tournament results:
    1. Finishing 15th in qualifying rounds of the British girls open in Ireland 2014
    2. Welsh ladies open 2014 at Prestatyn
    3. Welsh schools championship 2011

    Please tell me about any honours, awards, and achievements in golf that you would like to share: Placing 15th in the British girls open 2014 stroke play, finishing with an eagle at the 36th hole, after holing a 123 yard shot.
